The CDA recognizes and encourages outstanding performance in the Canadian dam industry by presenting a number of awards every year. Administered by the Honours and Awards Committee, the Honours and Awards Program recognize individuals’ achievement and services, as well as corporate contributions to the dam industry.
The CDA honoured its members and post-graduate student in a unique video presentation in October 2021 as part of its virtual Annual General Meeting.
This award recognizes CDA members who have distinguished themselves through significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge and practices related to dams in Canada.
This award recognizes CDA members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to CDA and have made valued contributions to the advancement of the Association.
This award is offered to the CDA author(s) who prepares and publishes an outstanding article or technical paper on dam-related issues. It can be from any published source or conference.

CDA offers up to two scholarships annually to full-time postgraduate students attending a Canadian university or college whose program of study focuses on dam safety and/or the management of dams.

The Constructed Project Award of Excellence recognizes teams that have made significant contributions to the dam industry in Canada and to society through the design, construction, remediation, upgrading, decommissioning, reclamation, and/or closure of dams.
The CDA Young Professional Award recognizes, celebrates, and acknowledges the contributions, engagement, and commitment of Young Professionals to the dam industry in Canada.
Life membership may be granted to current or former CDA members whose lifetime of dedication and achievement has contributed significantly to the dam industry in Canada.
The CDA offers from time to time special awards or distinctions to honor and recognize the various contributions of its membership to the dam industry in Canada. In addition, the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) has recognized some of the CDA members through senior EIC awards and EIC fellowships.
This award recognized until 2012 achievements in dam-related disciplines by students at Canadian universities and colleges. It has been replaced by the CDA Scholarships.
