Canadian Dam Association invites you to apply or nominate peers and colleagues to its Honours & Awards Program, whose goal is to recognize individuals’ achievements and services, as well as corporate contributions to the dam industry. 

Are you ready to acknowledge someone? We're ready to promote their performance in the Canadian dam industry. Meet our 2021 recipients.

You should consider applying or nominating for the following awards, if you are or know someone who has accomplished outstanding performance in the field of dam safety, public safety, management of dams, and protection of the environment:

• Inge Anderson Award of Merit
  This award recognizes CDA members who have distinguished themselves through significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge and practices related to dams in Canada. Deadline: August 5th, 2022. More information
   
• Peter Halliday Award for Service
  This award recognizes CDA members for their valued contributions and outstanding commitment to the advancement of the Association. Deadline: August 5th, 2022. More information
   
• Published Paper Award of Excellence
  This award of excellence recognizes the contribution made by CDA members in authoring or coauthoring an outstanding article or technical paper related to dam engineering and/or the management of dams. Any papers (conferences, peer-reviewed journals, congresses, online magazines) are accepted. Presentations done in workshops and webinars are accepted, only if a related accompanying paper was submitted and published in a magazine, journal, compendium of papers, conference proceeding. Deadline: August 5th, 2022. More information
   
• Corporate Award
  This award recognizes the Sustaining Members and Corporate Members whose contributions to the dam industry merit recognition. Deadline: August 5th, 2022. More information
   
• CDA Scholarships
  Two scholarships are offered to full-time post-graduate students attending a Canadian university or college whose program of study focuses on dam safety and/or the management of dams.  Deadline: June 10th, 2022. More information
   
• Constructed Project Award of Excellence
  This award of excellence recognizes teams that have made significant contributions to the dam industry in Canada and to society through the design, construction, remediation, upgrading, decommissioning, reclamation, and/or closure of dams. Deadline: May 31st, 2022. More information
   
• CDA Young Professional Award
  This award recognizes, celebrates, and acknowledges the contributions, engagement, and commitment of Young Professionals to the dam industry in Canada. Deadline: August 5th, 2022. More information
   
• Life Membership
  Life membership honour is granted to current or former CDA members whose lifetime of dedication and achievement has contributed significantly to the dam industry in Canada. Deadline: August 5th, 2022. More information

Nominations are encouraged and can come from both CDA members and non-members, please see details at the links provided. Don't wait to the last minute to apply or to nominate someone.

Winners will be formally recognized by their peers and the industry in 2022 during the CDA Annual Conference in St. John's, NL, as well as in the CDA video of award recipients, CDA website, and through other CDA communication and marketing channels.
