On September 23, 2026, the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) joined forces with the Vancouver Geotechnical Society (VGS), a local chapter of the Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS), and the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) to co-host a Young Professional mixer at the Rec Room Brentwood in Metro Vancouver.
The event brought together Young Professionals and seasoned professionals from across the civil, construction, geotechnical, and hydrotechnical industries for an evening of networking, conversation, food, and drinks.
Despite a busy fall season, the mixer was well attended, drawing participants from across Metro Vancouver and from the many professional fields represented by the three host organizations. The evening created an informal setting for attendees to make new connections, exchange perspectives, and learn more about professionals working across related industries.
One of the key takeaways from the event was just how much these industries and the people working within them have in common. While their areas of expertise may differ, participants share a common interest in contributing to a built environment that serves both society and the environment.
