Let’s Do a Tour Together in St. John’s
Three unique tours are now available on October 20, 2022. From an overnight technical tour to Churchill/Muskrat Falls, to a day trip out to Vale's Long Harbour site or a half-day technical tour in St. John's, there are technical tours at the 2022 conference for all interests and budgets.
- Churchill and Muskrat Falls Tour: Participate in this tour for a hands-on opportunity to view amazing feats of engineering on the Churchill River in Central Labrador. The old meets the new when you visit one of the largest underground powerhouses in the world at Churchill Falls, then travel downstream to a new state-of-the-art facility at Muskrat Falls. - Vale's Long Harbour site: The full day technical tour and presentation will be presented by senior tailings/ dam management staff from the Vale Long Harbour facility. Topics such as tailings deposition, Tailings and Dam Management System, water retention dam and concrete spillway operations, site specific improvement opportunities and key projects will be discussed.
