On Monday June 22, the CDA is opening nominations for its Board of Directors for the 2026-27 year.
The positions open for elections this year are:
Vice-President, three-year term as Vice-President, President, and Past-President
Regional Director, British Columbia (incumbent is eligible for a second term)
Regional Director, Manitoba Regional Director, Nova Scotia Regional Director, Newfoundland and Labrador
Director-at-Large (ICOLD) Director-at-Large
Please consider whether you’d like to be nominated for one of these positions. The CDA depends on volunteer advocates to advance its mission in support of Canadian cooperation and competency in dam safety and technology.
Serving on the Board is also an exciting, rewarding experience – giving you the opportunity to work with like- minded professionals. It will also allow you to expand your skills and grow your ability to think about dams in the big picture. And, of course, you’ll be enabling the continued success and effectiveness of the CDA.
For more information on the commitments of Regional Directors, please see the document "Roles and Responsibilities for Regional Directors" found on the Governance page of the CDA website. Information about the roles and responsibilities of the Officers (i.e., the person elected Vice President this year becomes the President in the following year, and the Past President in the year after that) is summarized in section 5.04 of the By- Law (also available on theGovernance page of the web site), and detailed in Article VII.
To submit a nomination, please visit the Governance page where, starting Monday June 22, you will be able to download the nomination
form. Nominations will be open until Sunday, August 9.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve and support the CDA. Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Nominations Committee Chair Julia Hiscock at nominations@cda.ca, or CDA’s Executive Director Thomas Woodley at executive.director@cda.ca.
