The Canadian Dam Association depends on volunteers to lead the Association by serving on the Board of Directors. Nominations for vacant positions on the Board are being accepted through Sunday, August 9.
The Board of Directors sets the Association’s strategy; provides the resources necessary to implement it; provides oversight to staff and committees; ensures the protection of members’ rights, and oversees compliance with relevant legislation. The Directors each have a personal fiduciary responsibility to ensure the CDA’s resources are used appropriately.
Elections are held annually to fill open positions on the Board. The following positions need to be filled for terms beginning at the 2026 Annual General Meeting:
All directors are expected to attend and participate in regular virtual meetings and two semi-annual in-person meetings. Some financial support is available for attendance at in-person meetings. Directors also participate in, act as Board liaison to, or lead task groups and/or committees and may be called upon to help organize local events.
For more information regarding the duties of the Board members, please contact the Chair of the Nominations Committee, Julia Hiscock, at nominations@cda.ca; or your current provincial/territorial director.
