From 1993 to 2000, he was a professor of geotechnical engineering at École de technologie supérieure in Montréal before moving to Laval University in 2000 where he was a full professor in civil engineering until 2020. Dr. LeBoeuf received his undergraduate degree in geological engineering in 1978, and a Master’s in geotechnical engineering, both from Laval University, and a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering from the University of Sherbrooke in 1989.

Dr. LeBoeuf’s research interests span both geotechnical earthquake engineering and soil mechanics. He is the author of over 200 articles, communications and technical reports on various topics in soil mechanics, dam engineering and geotechnical earthquake engineering. He is a past associate editor for Canadian Geotechnical Journal (2001-2004) and past Vice-President of the Canadian Geotechnical Society (2002-2004).
