This presentation will explore the work that has occurred to date and outline plans for future construction to extend the life of the structure and ensure its continued safe operation

Presentation #2
Rehabilitation of the Rivers Dam Low-Level Outlet

Presenters:
Chad Leitold, P.Eng., Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure
Donovan Kroeker, M.Sc., P.Eng., KGS
Neil Privat, M.Sc., P.Eng., KGS

Synopsis: The Rivers Dam was constructed in 1959 by the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA) and is located on the Little Saskatchewan River, east of the Town of Rivers in the R.M. of Riverdale, Manitoba. Following the record flow in the 2020 flood, MTI commissioned KGS Group to design and implement both interim repairs and permanent rehabilitation measures for the dam, as well as, the spillway and low-level outlet.  This presentation will focus on the degraded condition of the over 60 year old low-level outlet structure, the design rehabilitation of the gate, concrete conduit and stilling basin, as well as the construction.
