L’examen de la sécurité d’un barrage constitue un processus périodique et systématique mené par un ingénieur qualifié et indépendant. Les objectifs de l’atelier de base sur l’examen de la sécurité des barrages sont de présenter les concepts élaborés dans le bulletin technique de l’ACB  Examens de la sécurité des barrages. Les participants acquerront une compréhension préliminaire des éléments suivants :

Andy Small

Senior Staff Consultant, Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.

Andy Small, P.Eng. is a geotechnical engineer that specializes in dam safety and dam design. He has over 30 years of experience and works for Klohn Crippen Berger providing services to the mining industry. He lives in Eastern Canada and has worked across Canada and internationally. He is an active member of the Canadian Dam Association and International Commission on Large Dams. He has been involved in many dam safety reviews, contributed to the CDA guidance on DSRs, and has been an instructor in several DSR training sessions.

 

Allan Kirkham

Technical Coordinator, Canadian Dam Association

Allan Kirkham is retired from Ontario Power Generation (OPG) where he was the Manager - Hydrotechnical Studies. He has over 34 years of specialized experience in hydraulic engineering of which over 25 years has been directly related to dam safety studies, including hazard classification, watershed modelling, hydraulic routing, inundation mapping, dam safety reviews and emergency planning and response. He has also contributed to the development and refinement of dam safety standards and guidelines for both OPG and the Canadian Dam Association.

His extensive experience in all aspects of Dam Safety Reviews, including owner’s requirements, technical analyses, decision-making and implementation, allows him to provide a unique perspective on the dam safety review process.
