Public Safety Around Dams Workshop
In partnership with the Ontario Waterpower Association (OWA), the CDA will be offering its one-day Public Safety Around Dams (PSAD) workshop on Wednesday, May 7 in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Who should attend?
The workshop will interest managers and operators of dam facilities who are involved in decisions related to the management of risks, as well as staff engaged in the day-to-day maintenance of public safety at their dams.  Consultants tasked with preparing public safety plans should also attend this session. 

What attendees will learn
The elements of a public safety management system will be presented, using case studies to illustrate practical applications of the CDA Guidelines for PSAD.  Methods for risk identification and treatment will be presented, including warning systems, physical and operational controls. The program will cover:

•    Public Safety Management System
•    Roles and Responsibilities
•    Public Safety Risk Assessment
•    Risk Treatment
•    Continuous Improvement – Completing the Managed System
